Mother Wendy and The Blue Sage

Sorry for the lack of update. It's not that I didn't want to update. I really did, but I was hoping to put together a before and after of the house. Obviously, that isn't on this post, but this should inspite me to put it on the next one. :-)
Well, since we moved in nearly a month ago things have just been crazy. We had put our social calendar on hold while we were working on the house, and now it is filling up quickly!
We usually go the Stillhouse ( Scottish Pub in Oregon City) with a group once a week, David plays pool with Asa at least once a week and when the weather is nice we have people over.
Because we are now able to have a place for company I have now taken on the title of "Mother Wendy." Tahlia Mahar previously held this, but since she has moved to Idaho I have dutifully taken on the role. This last weekend for example we had a BBQ on Friday night, on Saturday Asa and Joe Mickler came over for breakfast and Sunday we had a BBQ leftovers lunch. These boys would be lost without me. :-)

A couple of weeks ago my boss took the office out to the Blue Sage Cafe that just opened down the street from my work. This place is interesting. It looks very trendy on the outside...

...but when you go in it's a very in-your-face country western theme.

When you walk in they hand you a menu and you have to order before you take your seat. Then after you are seated your food comes out in about 10 minutes. It was really good too. I had French Onion soup with a Ceaser salad, however had I known brunch was served until 3:00 I would have ordered a waffle. ;-) Since then I've been trying to go back, but it's always hard to get someone to try a new restaurant. (*hint, hint* to anyone who is reading this :-D)

All Moved In

Well, we are moved in. We ended up keeping the fixtures that came with house and buy some that we will really like when we have little bit more money rather than go round and round over cheap ones that neither of us really like. Masha, Doug and Amy spent the last few days before Moving Day helping us paint. Mandee even came over on Friday for a few hours and helped me paint the office. I ended up not going with the light yellow because when I compared it to the white it was just too light. I ended up getting a new green color and this one turned out much better than my original green. It's another Disney color called "Christopher Robin's Swing." It's still not my favorite, but I think it's because I'm not a fan of Behr's selection of colors. I understand their paint is superior quality, but their colors just seem so standard and there's nothing unique about them.
Saturday was moving day. We woke up early and David went straight to the house and I stayed at the apartment to finish packing. We had so many people wanting to help us that I actually had to turn some away. (Sorry!) We got everything moved out and cleaned by 5:00. Thank you so much for everyone's sacrifices and willingness to help, We would not have gotten anything done without your help. Amy made us a "It's A Wonderful Life" basket. (You know that scene where George and Mary give the Martini's a gift basket right before they enter their new home.)
We were planning on having carpet laid in the two bedrooms upstairs on Monday so we set up an air mattress in the media room and spent our first night there. There were some slight complications with getting the carpet picked up, so it was postponed to Tuesday (yesterday). No problem, so instead of setting up our bedrooms David played pool with Asa and I went grocery shopping (Shelf Price -$125.00 - Spent $54.00).
Craig McCoy (Mandee's dad) came first thing Tuesday morning and got the rooms finished before noon. Hooray! It's so nice to have carpeting there! I spent the evening organizing the kitchen and David put the bed back together and organized the upstairs.
Since I'm at this point in my update can I just say I LOVE MY CABINETS! There is so much space that I can't even fill up any of the cupboards. I know that it is only a matter of time, but I'm enjoying it while I can.
A very nice side benefit to doing this renovation is that I've lost 10lbs! Yay! My pants that were tight on me in January are now falling down. Oh darn, I guess I'll just have to go shopping for new clothes. Noooooo! Please don't make me.
Well, according to Abigale Lortz we are having a birthday party for David at our house today. Yay, I love parties! :)
I'll try and post some before and after pics of the house this week.
Adios!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID & OLIVIA!

It's my husband's birthday today. Yes, that's right it's the big 2-3. :) Since it's his day I figured I should brag a little about him. Did you know that he helps me clean without me even asking? He also does most of the laundry and ironing (better then me I might add). Yes, I'm very blessed. He does so much and I can't give him enough credit for the wonderful things he does for me. We also get along so well that I love just spending time with him. He's funny, easy going and so cute! Happy Birthday, I love you!

It's also my niece, Olivia's, birthday. She is turning 6 today and I cannot believe how big she is! I haven't seen her since Christmas, but it just surprised me at what a young lady she is. Happy Birthday!
